Property Manager

Maiden Bridge & Canongate

My journey started out with Morgan Properties in December 2019 as a leasing professional here at Maiden Bridge and Canongate. It has allowed me to grow within the Awesome Communities in the Pittsburgh Area of Morgan Properties; such as: Torrente (LP), Christopher Wren (APM) , Park West 205 (PM), Kane (PM) and I am now back at MBCG as the Property Manager and what an exciting and impactful ride I have enjoyed thus far.

Property Manager

Summit Pointe

I have been in property management for over two decades and have been fortunate to work for 3 wonderful organizations. Prior to my time with Morgan Properties, I was a regional manager for 4 years with a management company out of Chicago. They informed me that the owners were not renewing the management contracts when they expired and that created a lot of uncertainty at the time, and I was not sure what my future would hold. I had two small children, and I did not want to leave the area, so a move to Chicago was not in the cards.

I saw an advertisement for a property manager position at Summit Pointe which led me to looking into Morgan Properties and I was very impressed. A few weeks prior I was at an IREM event in Atlantic City, and they provided a list of all who attended. Morgan Properties had several team members in attendance, so I went with the first name on the list which was Jane Ashwood. I reached out to Jane on LinkedIn, and it just so happened that she was the hiring manager. We met a few days later at the Viewmont Diner for an interview and I was hired.

To say Morgan Properties has exceeded my expectations would be an understatement. The experiences I have gained in the last decade have been incredible. I was fortunate to be part of many acquisitions and have had the opportunity to mentor some of the best managers and teams in the industry. I have been blessed to have also learned from some of the best employees Morgan has had over the years, and I would like to give a special shout out to the late Lisa Rice, Elaine Bookbinder and Brent Kohere. Lisa was a tremendous leader and friend who led by example and who was filled with a passion for excellence while always doing the right thing. Elaine kept me on point with all things accounting and Brent would visit whenever he was in the area. They all provided guidance to me in my position, and they were also very approachable and provided many great conversations which I still reflect on from time to time.

I could go on for hours about why I love being part of the Morgan team but I'm going to wrap it up with one more story that speaks to the company culture of Morgan Properties. In April of 2019 I was on my way to the Morgan Annual Management Conference in Baltimore Maryland. We drove to Harrisburg where my region met, and we all took a bus from there to Maryland. We were arriving in Baltimore when I received a call that something happened to my dad. They believed he was having a stroke and had to fly him from Scranton to the Geisinger hospital in Wilkes Barre. In a second my life was turned upside down. I texted Lisa Rice, who was my regional manager at the time, and when I arrived at the hotel, she was there to console me along with many other members of the Morgan team and she had a vehicle there to drive me back. Getting back to my dad was a heavy stressor on my mind at a moment and Morgan immediately took that heavy burden off my plate. I am forever grateful to the Morgan family and everyone else who is part of the Morgan team for everything they did for me on this day as well as on the days before and after. My Dad is coming up on 6 years removed from his stroke and although he has some expressive and receptive aphasia, he is doing great. He is 84 years old and still works out every day and I’m happy to say that this story has a happy ending.

Growing up and still to this day I have always been heavily involved in sports. I always loved team sports because there is something very rewarding about working together to achieve a goal. I have had some great teams over the years but the best team I have ever been part of is the Morgan Properties team. We are the best of the best in the multi-family housing industry and the support I feel every day from my teammates is a tribute to our culture. Without it we would never get done what we get done on a regular basis and it is a reflection of what has been built by Mitch over the past 40 years.

In closing I want to say that I'm not an Eagles fan, but I know a lot of people within the Morgan organization are very happy with the outcome of the Super Bowl. I am happy for all those people, but I'm going to say for a fact that the Eagles team isn't even in the same league as the Morgan team when it comes to overall excellence

Regional Manager

RM - Maryland

I began my career with Morgan Properties in 2004 as a Property Manager at Willowbrook Apartments. I was quickly promoted to Regional Marketing Manager for Maryland, Pennsylvania, and Delaware. This role supported our VP of Marketing & Advertising. As Morgan grew so did our need for more expansion in Training.

I was promoted into the role of Regional Manager of Training & Advertising, to support our new onboarding employees along with training the teams for future advancement opportunities. During the time I served in this role I also supported the due diligence process through acquisition of 4 separate portfolios in MD and PA. Additionally, I was on site day one to train, acclimate and assist our new employees that opted to join Morgan Properties. As we continued to grow through acquisitions the need to expand our Training and Advertising department also grew. The departments were divided, and I decided to move into Training exclusively. During my 5+ years as a Regional Training Manager I also continued to support the on boarding of new acquisitions and managed our DE site portfolio as the acting Regional Manager for 9 months during the Regional Transition. I also added Belvedere Towers to my Portfolio in MD. I soon discovered I really enjoyed portfolio management and accepted a new role as Regional Manager of our Howard and Baltimore County sites. This included the acquisition of our Howard County sites, where we built fantastic relationships with the local County, Fire and Rescue in the county and successfully stabilized these sites through the sale of this portfolio. I currently have Baltimore County communities and have enjoyed supporting my teams to earn annual esteemed awards in the Gold, Silver, and Bronze categories at the MMHA Star Awards in MD. During my many wonderful years at Morgan Properties I have had the opportunity to earn my CAPS and AIT certifications which awards me the opportunity to lead Training Seminars with MMHA & the National Apartment Association.

It has been my pleasure to help Morgan Properties grow through acquisition and work with the many professional and talented employees I have known through the years!

Service Manager

Ethan Pointe

I have been in the apartment maintenance field for over 44 years, and working for Morgan Properties has been the highlight of my career. I started in 1981 when my grandparents hired me at Pittsford Gardens, and all I was doing is snow removal, lawn care and changing light bulbs and plunging toilets as needed. Contractors and vendors did the rest. In the eight years there, I started learning the maintenance field and basically eliminated most of the vendors associated with that property. Watching appliance techs service washer and dryers and charging huge amounts of money, I thought "I can do that for a 1/4 of the price". And so it began. I wanted to learn all fazes of apartment maintenance. I enjoy the field because its something different every day. (factory work is NOT for me). Taking care of residents and keeping the property up and running is very satisfying. At 61 years old, I do not plan on retiring any time soon as long as I can stay healthy and continuing doing the job to company standards. (and mine). And my son is also a Morgan Service manager and I have passed on my knowledge to him. (although he didn't need that much training). Taking him on side jobs on weekends when he was younger, he has learned so much on his own by just watching. Very proud!!

Traditions at Augusta

I took a break from working in the apartment industry for a while and decided to give it a try again. I was hired first as a floating leasing professional at two properties. I have since been promoted to Assistant Community Manager. With this has brought some health challenges that Morgan has stuck by me through. I am glad to be a part of a company that looks after its employees.

I have been in the industry on my property for 22 years now and Morgan Properties is my 4th owner and my favorite! I remember the day Greg Curci and others came to look at property and he asked how many owners I had. When I told him Morgan would be my 4th, he said 4th and last. I chuckled but hoped it was true. MP came in and did some much needed improvements on my property i.e. added amenities, new roof, painted, etc. I love Morgan Properties as they are so structured and up to date with technology. The training they provide for the employees is amazing. The conferences I have attended were so fulfilling and I was so happy to receive the ORA Award at my first conference with MP. I must say everyone I deal with from corporate to IT are so kind and always willing to help! I do plan on retiring from MP. I just wish they would implement 4 day work weeks with a 3 day weekend. Thanks to all for making my journey with MP a successful one.

I am extremely honored to have been chosen the Property Manager of the year in the Hillocks Region. I want to thank Lauren Keith Trainor for the nomination and Laurel Hillocks for the award. It is truly an honor to be recognized by amazing leaders in my region. #morganpride

Morgan Properties: A Journey of Growth, Opportunity, and Teamwork

When I think about what Morgan Properties means to me, it’s not just a company—it’s been a place of growth, opportunity, and connection. From the first day I walked through the doors, I felt the energy and commitment that defines this organization. It’s more than just a job; it's a place where potential is recognized and nurtured, where each challenge is a chance to develop, and where the culture supports and encourages you every step of the way.

The growth I’ve experienced here goes beyond just professional skills. It's about the way Morgan Properties invests in people, giving us the tools and guidance we need to succeed. Whether it's through hands-on training, leadership support, or the freedom to take on new responsibilities, I’ve been pushed to grow in ways I never expected. And every time I’ve taken on something new, the company has been right there, offering the resources and encouragement I needed to rise to the occasion.

Morgan Properties has also provided countless opportunities for advancement. It’s a company that believes in promoting from within and helping its employees chart their own path. I’ve been lucky enough to take on roles I hadn’t thought possible when I first started, and each one has allowed me to grow and make a more significant impact.

But above all, what stands out most to me is the team. The people I work with are the heart of this company. There’s a sense of camaraderie here that you don’t always find in large organizations. Everyone is willing to collaborate, share ideas, and help each other succeed. The culture of Morgan Properties is built on mutual respect, support, and a shared vision for excellence. That’s what makes it so special.

As I look ahead, I know that the journey I’ve started with Morgan Properties is far from over. This company has given me everything I need to continue growing, to continue embracing new opportunities, and to continue being part of something much bigger than myself. Morgan Properties isn’t just a place to work—it’s a place to thrive.

The Docks & The Waterfront

My community was part of the MC8 acquisition in December of 2020. My team and I quickly saw how dedicated Morgan was to the quality and care to its employees and residents. I was promoted to Multi-Site manager in January 2024; more than doubling my unit count. We work directly with a charity in our community, The Best of the Batch - collecting gifts for children in our community and surrounding neighborhood during the holidays, donating school supplies for the school season, etc. In May 2024, I was awarded the Jane Goforth Humanitarian Award for my work with Best of the Batch - my most proud accomplishment. I was then given the amazing opportunity to speak on the Monday's at Morgan Podcast. I have worked so hard in my career to be where I'm at. It feels amazing and so rewarding to finally be seen and appreciated, especially in a company that is SO LARGE and SUCCESSFUL - I hope everyone gets that same feeling each day when they come into work.
